Lost Girl Recap: Bo's Back, With No Rules This Time

Wow. "Lost Girl's" midseason premiere certainly didn't disappoint, did it? It had everything from a mystical sacrifice to a surprising hook-up to a sexy-yet-evil Afreet who feeds off of human adoration. The latter, of course, is played to perfection by deliciously devious guest star Lauren Holly ("Dumb & Dumber").

    http://lauren-holly.com/gallery/albums/uploads/Television/Lost%20Girl/204%20Midnight%20Lamp/Screencaptures/normal_204_007.jpg

Before we delve any further into Holly's alluring of Afreet, let's talk about Dyson. It looks like our lonely, brooding wolf is destined to remain that way forever, now that we know he sacrificed his ability to love! That's bad news for his current ladylove Kiara, who reacts to Dyson's bombshell pretty much exactly as one might expect. She was pisssssssssed. But can you blame her? Who goes around sacrificing their ability to love? Come on!

Dyson's inability may be bad news for Bo down the line, too. But she's too busy with her surprising new hookup to worry about Dyson! SPOILER ALERT: if you haven't seen the whole episode yet, I'm about to get into its two most surprising twists that emerge towards the end. Yep. I'm talking about Ryan. Bo finally gave into the wannabe Tony Stark's relentless advances. And no, he didn't win her over with promises of private jet rides. He had her at "no baggage." http://lauren-holly.com/gallery/albums/uploads/Television/Lost%20Girl/204%20Midnight%20Lamp/Screencaptures/normal_204_017.jpg

A romance with Ryan probably won't go smoothly. He belongs to the most mischievous brand of fae, after all. And really, who goes around building an "Inception"-style alternate universe inside of a music box while drunk? But Ryan will most definitely inject a bit of much-needed fun into Bo's life. I, for one, realized just how much he had grown on me when I thought he was dead.

http://lauren-holly.com/gallery/albums/uploads/Television/Lost%20Girl/204%20Midnight%20Lamp/Screencaptures/normal_204_059.jpgOK, it's time to talk about Sadie. Isn't she a great new character? I knew Lauren Holly was going to be guest starring, but I didn't realize she was gonna play such an evil sexpot. The way she's introduced is great, too -- feeding off the adoration of her nerdy fans at some sort of geek convention. Brilliant! Hopefully this episode won't be the last we see of Sadie.

Click here to see more photos from the show!

The episode was so action-packed, it was hard to pick just five favourite scenes, but I've managed to narrow it down. Unfortunately, none of them involve Dyson. His scenes were all kind of downers last night, huh? Poor him!http://lauren-holly.com/gallery/albums/uploads/Television/Lost%20Girl/204%20Midnight%20Lamp/Screencaptures/normal_204_271.jpg

Top 5 Favourite Moments from Last Night's Episode:

    1. Bo "marks" Sadie with a hicky, placing the nefarious Afreet under her control.
    2.
Ryan emerges from the elevator shaft unharmed (and, most importantly, not dead!).
    3.
Sadie seethes, "You dickheads stuck me in a lamp?!!"
    4.
The ever-composed Bo is momentarily thrown off when she first meets Sadie. (It's so rare to see Bo meet her match. As Anna Silk once said in an interview, guest stars are usually putty in her hands!)
    5.
Ryan reveals he's a dark fae -- after Bo has already hooked up with him.

Lauren Holly: Following mom's footsteps, lands 9-year-old TV gig

    Lauren Holly

A Grade 4 New Central Public School student is a co-star of an upcoming situation comedy television show, which will air on the Family Channel.

The show, titled Really Me, will premiere on the network on Sunday, April 23.

To get the part, the nine-year-old Azer Greco followed in the footsteps of his mother, actress Lauren Holly-Greco.

About a year-and-a-half ago he had a role in a TV-movie with his mother, called Too Late to Say Goodbye.

“I was in a TV movie with my mom and the director asked me if I wanted to try out for an agent and I said ‘sure’,” the child-actor said who was born in New Jersey and grew up in Los Angeles.

His family relocated to Canada less than three years ago, to where they now live in Oakville.

He did try out and landed the agent role and then he got a lead role in another TV-movie, called The Town Christmas Forgot.

Now, he got one of the lead parts in the upcoming TV show, which was filmed in Toronto through January to March.

“I think he’s grown up on sets, though his brothers have too, but they don’t have an interest in it. But I think it’s where Azer flourishes. He very much loves being on a set,” his mother Holly-Greco said.

The young actor is the oldest of his two brothers, all of whom are one year apart in age.

The show was filmed for 13 episodes and the family is still waiting to find out if it will be picked up for another season.

Really Me centres around a 15-year-old girl, Maddy (played by Sydney Imbeau) who lives in the shadows of her two brothers. The older brother Brody (Wesley Morgan) is handsome and popular, while Greco plays the younger brother, Clarke, who is a genius, constantly outsmarting his two siblings. Furthermore, Maddy is also overshadowed by her father Ray (Neil Crone), who is a former NHL star.

Then to get some of her family’s spotlight, Maddy and her best friend become the stars of a new reality TV show. However, she quickly learns that even though she’s the star, it is still difficult to be on camera with her family around.

    Lauren Holly

Greco said he enjoys playing the part of the boy-genius.

“He really likes the scenes with his brother and sister and playing pranks,” Holly-Greco said.

Though the show has not yet been aired, it’s already picking up some fanfare.

“His brothers really love watching it. It got to the point when we would read scripts they would want to hear them and they would be laughing,” Holly-Greco said.

Greco added he enjoys working on the set, as well when the show is not being taped.

“The cast is really nice and being on set with everyone is fun,” he said.

Another exciting moment from the set for Greco was when his classmates got to visit him at work as part of a class field trip.

“They really liked it. I was pretty excited,” he said. “They were really shocked because I have my own dressing room for when I’m not filming and where I put all my stuff.”

Furthermore, Greco added that his fellow castmates hung out with his class throughout the entire duration of the field trip.

Though he misses a lot of classroom time while the show is being filmed, his mother said that has not affected his schoolwork.

He works with a tutor for two hours a day on set, when he is not being filmed. On days he is not needed on the set, he’s back in his regular classroom.

“I actually think he did better because I think the one-on-one is much different than being in a classroom.”

Acting has resulted in other fun activities for the young actor. On Wednesday, April 6 he got to be part of the official opening of the new Disney Store at Square One Shopping Centre, along with other actors from television shows.  Click here to see the photo gallery!

“These things start happening. There are people who think the show is good and that he’s funny,” Holly-Greco said.

The show is produced by Fresh TV. The first episode originally ran on the Family Channel as a sneak peak last month and will begin its regular rotation on Sunday, April 23 and will air every Sunday after that at 6:30 p.m.

Plot: Fraternal twin sisters Emma and Lilly are as different as night and day. Emma, the beautiful blonde tomboy, would rather be riding a horse than anything else in the world. While Lilly, her shy redheaded twin, loves to be left alone to curl up with a good book. Inseparable since the day they were born, Emma and Lilly have an insatiable desire to play matchmaker, even though they've never fallen in love themselves. Emma and Lilly find out their matchmaking skills are not just a gift from heaven, but rather because their father is actually Cupid (yes the guy who shoots bows and arrows). As they enter their senior year in high school, Emma and Lilly finally fall in love. Life gets complicated when they discover they're in love with the same guy and they become bitter rivals as they try to win his affection. Sisterhood and matchmaking are tossed out the window like last year's shoes, as Emma and Lilly plot to sabotage each other, so they can win the heart of their dream guy. The sisters who once were inseparable, now spend every waking moment, planning each others demise. Meanwhile, their parents are falling out of love. Can Emma and Lily overcome their problems and use their matchmaking skills to bring their parents back together?
