    Hey Lauren

Yes, there is more room on the couch. Now I have one couch, my mom has the other, Holly has the rocking chair, and my cat has the bean bag. :P

I kept forgetting to tell you that I loved you on Covert Affairs. Somehow, right from the beginning after watching the looks you were giving the Ashley character, I knew you were the "bad" character. :P That has to be my favorite episode. :]

    Have fun doing your movie!

    Hi Annie Benson,

Pulling an all-nighter tonight... staying up with a sick alpaca. She had a sweet little baby boy on Thurs, (when I was away at a conference. Scared the petsitter witless) & has been an extremely attentive mom, to the detriment of herself. Spent the last 3 hours pulling her back, and now she's looking much more like herself. I think I caught it early, now just have to check her hourly. No sleep tonight, so I thought I'd catch up on the board.

I loved Fatal's story about Brent Spiner speaking of you. I worked with him for a couple months in NY a number of years back. He was the master of the one-line zingers. I bet you both had a BLAST on set!

In the meantime, the bottle baby alpaca has definitely bonded to me. She can be clear across the pasture, and will come racing back to me when called. Having a bottle in hand helps encourage this response. Between feedings, she follows at my heels like a puppy. Extremely cute!

Off to check on mama. Wishing you lots of fun, laughter & hard work on your new adventure, Annie, and looking forward to Lauren's return to the board once filming is through.

    Merde,

    Amber

Hi Lauren: Thank you for reaching out to that young girl. You are so kind hearted. I see she responded, but still seems down and unhopeful. Maybe the lanuage barrier is difficult to clearly see. I will pray for her. I have a funny story to tell you that is true. This kindergarten was telling his mom that he did not want to go to school. He was very adamant about it. She told him that he needed to go to school to learn things. He said like what. She said well like History. He said I know what I did last week, I don't have to go to school for that. Out of babes mouth. LOL Anyway, could we be freinds. I am not asking for you to give any special attention, just want to have you as a friend. Love and Hugs Nancy

    Hi,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting a lot of rest before another crazy week.
So… we did some autumn/winter cloths shopping this weekend and the kids have chosen some stuff from Volcom as well. In my house, the middle child is the one interested in fashion and he can’t wait until the clothes get shipped. He is also disappointed that he won’t be able to “show off” at school. Fortunately for me they have school uniforms!
I loved your new blog entry. English is my second language and because of that I pay a lot of attention to the language used in written materials. I can’t write myself, not in English but I do read a lot and when I do,I need to be able to read it smoothly, without any confusion and with ease. When I was reading your blog, I kind of blocked out from the rest of the world. I was so into it that if it was a book, I would have probably read it cover to cover! You are an amazing writer Lauren Holly! You play with words in such a delightful way that the reader can feel exactly what you are trying to express.
Can’t wait to hear more of your stuff!!!
Have a good night and good luck tomorrow.

    Hi Lauren!
I loved your new blog post, it's so true :)
We're leaving on Wednesday for a long trip up to a family wedding. We drive six hours, spend three days there and then go up to the wedding. We're spending a week up there, it's in Michigan. I'm glad for the long hours in the car because it will give me time to finish my summer reading list.
The downside is, we get home late on the day before school starts. So the first day's going to be hard. Second, I can't have some sort of last party of summer thing with my best friends...so we're doing that tomorrow. :D Do you have anything you do to "celebrate" the end of summer???
    Love always

I have no idea what job hunting is like in the US, so if you say England job hunting sounds as hard as US job hunting, it probably is. We're through the recession, but there's still a great deal of get rid not take on. The coalition government are making changes, pay freezes, reduced budgets whatnot. I understand that we, as a country, owe money, but the Tories seem to have forgotten we still need a roof over our heads and food on the table.

Worse still, there's this thing of if you're from a poor family council/benefits etc, that's how you're going to be. Mostly, that's true. In my case, it's not, but will the powers that be help me not be like that? Nope. Might as well go get myself pregnant and run to the council. That's what's expected.

Unfortunately I'm better than that, and I hve this damn fear of being like my mum, and I won't even sign on because I don't want to be ANYTHING like her.

I like the sound of magic hotpants. Superpowers and magic wands? I could do with one of those.

You have awesome music taste. I sometimes write to music, so indeed believe you. I rarely write in silence. Am used to doing to at night, a soft sound, tv buzz etc stops me being distracted.

The beret is coming along ok. I'm knitting in rib stitch and after two rows (each 54 sts) I'm in too much pain to carry on and have to take a break. How pathetic?

Hi Lauren, hope you and the family are keeping well. Sorry I haven't posted, been super busy with work and school. I don't have the time to surf the net, so I haven't seen the negative reviews for CA.

All the ones I read gave you rave reviews and the ratings were fantastic. I thought you did a fantastic job, you knocked that performance out of the park. Constructive criticism isn't easy, but how it's conveyed is important.

I say this because I had my performance review on Friday. Most of it was pretty good, I am a direct person, so I was told that I need to be different.

The good news is I'm being considered for promotion to Equity Partner, that interview is set for June 2010 in Barbados, I have some benchmarks to meet before then. I will share the info with you next time as I would really appreciate your thoughts on it, it's a big decision and I'm not sure I want to go to the next level.

Having seen Caught in the Act and your CA episode, my only comment is that a guy would have to be totally insane to even dream of cheating on you!!

Just my two cents. Although I like your new avatar pic, I prefer the previous one, you had that amazing smile of yours.

I'm off, heading to the gym. Enjoy your Sunday and have fun filming with your son.

    Hi !

It's very nice of you to want to try to help me, but I think you can do anything. Look! You're in the U.S., I'm France, I would never go to the United States, and when you come in France, this time I'll probably dream in truth there are several, including one c is to meet you, but I know it will never happen. But do not worry, dreams are never made to be realized. But just talking like that, for me, although of course, this is not really something exceptional, I think it's cool to be able to talk easily. In short, I think there is nothing you can do. Above all, you're American, I am French, and a lot of difference between the French and Americans. For Americans it's hard to understand the French and vise versa. Well, well, thank you for reading these few sentences without interest!

    Bye ♥

S - I had to tear myself away from my computer game before I did irreparable damage. My eyes were watering and my viwion was blurred. Ultimately my face was so close to the screen that my nose almost leaked on it. Like you, I go gung ho, flags a' flying.

With Monday fast approaching your level of anticipation must be skyrocketing. Mine would. It would be akin to waiting for Santa - I'd be so excited that my frequent trips to the bathroom at night would be ratcheted to non-stop.

Received this in my e-mail last week.:

Their teacher was trying to calm nerves and break the ice on the first day of first grade. However, she did issue one ultimatum - that her students use grown up words and not baby vocabulary.
She asked John what he had done over the week-end.
The reply, "I went to visit my Nana'."
"No, you went to visit your GRANDMOTHER. Use Big People words!"
Mitchell was asked about his week-end.
    "I took a ride on a choo-choo".
"No you rode a TRAIN. Use Big People words."
Alex's response to the question was, "I read a book."
"That's wonderful," the teacher said. "What was it?"
Alex thought real hard about it, then proudly puffed out his
chest and announced, "Winnie the !"

I keep forgetting to ask if you hear loons on your lake. Do you? Did you get to water ski at all?

    Dance on...O

O- Come to think of it, I don't think I have heard any loons. Odd. In the woods that I grew up in we had piliated woodpeckers. When they pecked at trees, it sounded like a jackhammer. Dear Lauren: Today I took my 14yo nephew to Chicago Comic Con, he’s a big sci-fi fan. Well, we saw William Shatner, Brent Spiner, Avery Brooks, John DeLancie, Linda Hamilton just to name a few.

Brent Spiner was irreverent, sarcastic, sharply witty & plied us with his dead on impersonation of Patrick Stewart. During the Q/A session, if you asked a ‘dumb’ question, he shot you down w/scathing humor but would apologize after he ripped you to shreds. So I was nervous asking my question. But it was a once in a lifetime thing. So in front of at least 700 people, I stood & asked about his appearance on “Leverage”.

“You starred w/Lauren Holly, Armin Shimmerman & directed by Jonathan Frakes. It looked like you guys were just having fun.” Unprompted, he talked about you!

He said that you had acted w/Patrick Stewart on “King of Texas”. “So during a lull in filming…” He would turn to you & tease you in Patrick Stewart’s fake Texas accent! He said he had a fun time shooting w/you.

It’s funny how things worked out, I hadn’t set out to ask him about you, but he volunteered it. I thought in my head, “Lauren’s name was brought up!” & I was glad to have instigated it!

As a kid the Bionic Woman was my hero, imagine my delight when I finally met Lindsay Wagner after all these years. I seriously hope that it doesn’t take me another 30yrs to meet my current hero. BTW, are you guys filming a musical? As always, thank you.

Hi Lauren: Well, I had the ladies over last night. I was so nervous, but I then calmed down. They ate and drank and stayed until 1230 am. They said they had a good time. One lady basically talked the whole night, but I feel bad for her. Her husband has a brain tumor, and he is on his second surgery. Very sad what the family is going through, so I know she needed to talk. Well, Wednesday my husband will be home. I have basically been alone for the past two weeks, but have enjoyed it. Did a couple of things for myself which I like. Went to the flea market for one, and found a lot of great deals. One girl wrote to you which I was concerned what she wrote, so am curious how you will respond. I know you will do great. She seemed very sad. I know you must be busy. I am kinda of tired of hearing all the negative of Convert Affairs, I thought you were great and I am not just saying that. They need to move on. But, I know you allow them to express their opinion. Well, I have having a glass of wine and enjoying myself. I hope you are doing the same. Talk to you later. Much love Nancy

What a success! I thought it would be. Now you need to make those get togethers a regular event. Take turns hosting. Your two weeks sounds like it was perfect. Yes, that young girl worried me too. I was conscious of the language barrier, so I did not want to overwhelm her......hope we hear from her again.
