Hi Lauren, how are you and the family? Your pics were cute. Sounds like you & your son had a great time filming. Finally caught up with the board.

I'm into my 2nd week of vacation, back home, just lazing around. I was in Miami last week, stayed at the Courtyard at Marriott, Dolphin Mall. It was cool, I had fun with outlet shopping in the mall. Got some good deals, but Customs flagged me when I got home, and I had to pay duties. Apparently, nationals can only spend $500.00 USD annually abroad and I spent way more than that.

What was great was that I didn't take my blackberry with me.

I noticed Azer's hair is short, did he have to cut it for the film, in other pics it was longer?

So how are you otherwise? It's the back to school routine from today, isn't it? School started here yesterday with heavy traffic on the road.

Anyway, I'm off. Have a great day

It is true, traffic gets so much worse when school starts. I thought it was bad already. A cut his hair a few months ago for something else. He would NEVER cut it before, and now he loves it short. I'm glad you had a real vacation, after how hard you worked. Are you ready to start again?

i have NO ideas for names at all, guess i shall just wait and see what he/she is like.

BTW LOVE the socks in your twitter pics. very awesome :)

our country finally decided on a prime minister today -yay for the end of constant political debates. dont get me wrong, i do care about who governs but just dont need to hear about it 24/7.

well...best be off. have 3 hours to get some shut eye before i go do another mare check :)

You are definitely climbing a mountain, but with your attitude, I bet you reach the summit. I cannot believe your husband would react that way, guess true colors come out in these kind of situations. I hope that is not too much of an emotional drain. As for the wigs, why bother if they are annoying? Bald can be beautiful, and when it starts to grow you'll have a super sheik hairdo in 10 days. To hell with everybody else. Just a thought. Keep smiling, the universe will smile back.

    Hey Lauren and LHA!
The semi-final competition for SBI was Saturday. We were supposed to have two auditions this past weekend but that isn't how it worked out. Saturdays comp. was to be cut to the top 20 but was cut to the top 10 instead and (drum roll please)............ I made top 10!!!!! Tomorrow is the finale for this long journey and I am singing "Sweet Child Of Mine." Saturday I sang "I Who Have Nothing." I competed in a different comp. tonight and placed 2nd. My daddy said, " You were robbed and should have won." He is a bit partial. I told him you win some and you lose some. Well I hope all is well with you and the kiddos and your hubby. Have a great week!

    Hello! :D

I'm homehomehome! Algarve was hot - like always! The first week was spend in the company of my sister, brother-in-law and nephew ... or should I say nephews? I only have one word for Anastacia's concert - amazing! I hadn't heard any of her songs in awhile but I knew the words. Second week was spend with cousin, aunt and uncle. I left Algarve with sore arms.. blame it on my cousin! We're playing, trying to see who would push who into the water. He's stronger than me so I had to use more strength and as a result sore arms.

Oh, I found some Coronas! They're goooddd! Now instead of asking for SuperBock or Sagres (Portuguese beer) I'm going to be ask for Corona! Let's hope I can find it here.

My new userpic is from a boat trip I did on the Algarve coast. It was beautiful! Too bad I didn't see dolphins.

It seems like you're having a great time in the set!

    xoxo*

    Hi Lauren/Laurenland,

@Fatal Romantic, thank you for the update on the movie release. Getting that movie will be my birthday treat to myself!

Tomorrow I turn 45. Yippee. The highlight will be the cake fight. Thank you, Lauren, for sharing that great idea with us!

Lauren, I loved all of the pics you posted on Twitter. They were great! You are absolutely gorgeous no matter what you are wearing! It looked like you were having so much fun. How much longer does your son have to shoot? It's great he can attend his first day of school.

I'm usually an upbeat, positive person, but the last several days I've really been feeling down. Not sure why. I think it's maybe the mood swings some of us get during this point in our lives. No HRT for me. My doctor feels that with my family medical history, it would be more of a risk than benefit. So, I get to go through this like our grandmothers did, all natural. lol.

I've also been thinking about something that you asked me about. I want to wait until my birthday is over to answer your question. I'm determined that tomorrow is going to be a good day no matter what!

Hope the boys have a good 1st day back at school,& that you have a relaxing, though sounds like short, break!

Much love to you, Mary Beth :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! How was the cake fight? Yeah, hormones suck. Up, down, sad, mad, hot or cold. Jeepers, it sounds like the most horrible ride at an amusement park. Not amusing. Men sure seem to have it easier.

Hi. It was so nice to hear from you. I have kept up with your pictures; they are great. Does your son still have his crush. I thought that was great. Are you still gone, or are you done filming. Is there another week left. Nothing much going on with me. I signed my husband up for facebook, so he should have fun with that. He has quite a few friends. He has come a long way with the computer compared to a couple of years ago. Also his typing has gotten a lot better. How did your son enjoy his first filming? Well don't want to take too much of your time, so I will sign off and look forward to hearing from you. Stay safe. Much love Nancy. PS. Thank you for your compliment on the avatar. That was very nice of you.

    Hello Lauren,
My close friend Gail and I are at our wits end trying to figure out where a certain picture was taken and is shown at the beginning of each NCIS show. It is one of the last pics shown before the show actually starts. Pictured is the Capital dome and is sighted along a deserted, probably early morning, length of road.

One of the small things in life that we can frustrate ourselves over and not have to worry about the universe ending if we don't find the answer. But, that isn't a possibility we are considering as of this time. Could you help us locate the name of this particular stretch of road? It's a long shot, granted. But, this gives me an opportunity to write to you on this site! Well, love seeing you on the screen and you are quite beautiful too! Thanks! Tom

Dear Laurenland, just a quick reminder. “You’re So Cupid” will be released on DVD on Tuesday Sept. 7th, it’s available at Amazon & as a digital iTunes download. “The Least Among You” is also now available on DVD from Amazon. I would highly recommend that if you buy them from Amazon, stop & make a quick review, Amazon gives a few tips on their site. What the review does is help the movies gain some traction, attract some buyers perhaps. We need to get the word out there. Talk about it on Twitter, create the buzz.

Lauren, as a side note, when I spoke to the Canadian border guard she asked me a lot of questions which finally ended w/this exchange, this is VERBATIM:

    Guard: Are you meeting anyone?
    Me: Yes, a friend.
Guard: How do you know this friend?
    Me: We met online.
    Guard: what online?
    Me: A message board.
Guard: what kind of message board? (suspiciously)
    Me: A celeb site
    Guard: What celeb?
    Me: Lauren Holly
Guard: Ok, you are free to go.(Immediately relaxed upon hearing your name!)

Didn’t know you were the secret password to enter Canada did you?

Because of you, I met Melissa here in Laurenland & I finally got to meet her in real life. She’s a great person! Hope you enjoy your break, please say hello to Azer for me. I'm still on the road, many more miles before I'm home. As always, thank you.

    Hi Lauren,

Heeeelp!!! They're having a shooting club's festival in front of our house...and they're playing bavarian folk music veeery loud O_O Many old chattering people with what seems to be bad hearing because the 'music' is so loud I can hear it in every part of our apartment. Nooooo... Now they're singing along...with a squeaky voice *frantically searching for earmuffs * :D

OMG I want these hooped socks. You look wonderful and very sweet with the glitter cheeks. I think you can make any outfit look gorgeous :)
Thanks for those pictures my dear dancing Xmas tree ^_^

Was back to the GP Tuesday. He's upped the dose of the epilepsy meds he has me on for pain. I'm now pretty much ont he highest dose possible. He asked me how they were working, to which I replied 's**t.' He asked me to clarify, so I told him they didn't touch the pain at all. and you know what? He looked surprised. I couldn't help but notice that. So I dunno, maybe he's starting to realise just how much pain I am in?

Been rowing with the grandmother most days. Tuesday she had a go at me for not paying rent, but yet I offer it and she won't take it (because I have no income). So how can she throw not paying rent at me? She then moaned at me for only applying for part time not full time work. Yet she knows that's due to my health. So she said go on incapacity benefit. (now employment and support allowance). So, that's what I've done. I've applied for benefits due to health meaning I can't work FT. And I hate myself. and I kind of hope they say no. (to be on benefits makes me no better than my mother, and quite frankly the lowest of the low. My one biggest ever one thing i want to do in my life is to work, support myself and have a roof over my head that I'm paying for (owned or rent), no provident loans, no baliffs, no housing benefit/council houses. I want to support myself through and through. To have to claim benefit based on health means I have to admit that I can't do that one thing I've always wanted to do, more than anything. :'( )

There is a HUGE difference between needing the system and abusing it. I have no doubt that you will be completely self-sufficient in the future. Use the assistance to prepare for that. It is how it is intended. There is absolutely NO shame in that. Seriously.

    Hi,
I love the pictures on twitter- looks like you’re having a lot of fun! Lol.Can’t wait to see the movie!
I agree with you, the love of blanket forts is universal. I remember spending half of my childhood building forts especially under the dinning table. I spent hours playing with my dollies but I also remember the pain when I was told that it was time to tidy up!
I remember saying to my Mom “my children will never have to tidy up”. It’s funny but this memory comes back to me, every time I’m about to call them to clean up the mess.
    I’m a bit frustrated!
The school is very strict about the uniforms and most of the stuff is available at the school shop but every single thing needs to have a sewed on name tag! So I have been spending hours sewing them on every sock, shirt, hat, ugh! I love the idea of uniforms and all but getting it ready is a real pain on neck. The only thing that keeps me sewing is the fact that I will not have to deal with arguing what outfit they should put on every morning!
On a nicer note, I am being sent away for a weekend to Bath by my boys as an appreciation for their lovely summer. Have you ever had a chance to visit Bath when you were living in the UK? I’ve heard it’s beautiful in there.

Hope you will be able to get some rest over the weekend.

Meanwhile I’m going back to sewing: just 20pairs of socks, 7shirts, 4knickerbockers, 2 tracksuits, and 6polo shirts left
